It's Legal To Talk About Legalizing

Excellent news on the free speech front. An Oklahoma congressman had created a law that blocked non-profit orgs from advertising in the Wash D.C. Metro subway system simply because their message was one of which he disapproved.
That message? "Legalize marijuana".

Seems this guy, like a few other ardent drug prohibitionists, does not want to even allow public discussion of the topic, likely out of fear that it just might reasonate with the public at large. And indeed that's the case, given that 71% of Americans believe that pot possession should NOT be a charge worthy of jail time.

Despite this overwhelming public sentiment, police nationwide continue to arrest and jail almost 2000 Americans EVERY DAY for nothing more than possession of marijuana. This is more arrests per day than for all violent crime combined.

Thus the belief by Law Enforcement Against Prohibition - LEAP - http://leap.cc/tbay that valuable police time is being wasted on pot busts that could be better directed towards violent crime like drunk driving, sex crimes, domestic violence etc.

Yeah, he probably wouldn't want this to end up being decided by individual, taxpaying citizens of the USA....next thing you know the USA will end up being a democracy...
